Wristlet purse

My battle to clear the backlog of pockets continues!  At the moment I am focusing on the back pockets and today I adapted various online porjects to produce this:
You will need two back pockets from jeans (I used some from children's jeans for this project), a zip and an assortment of scraps.
Cut your pocket into a square or rectangle. Cut strips of the scrap fabric to 1" width.  Attach these scraps to the sides and bottom of your pockets.
Cut a length of contrast scrap 3" wide and the length of your wrist strap.  Press in half lengthwise, open out and then press the sides to the middle.
Fold in half along the original crease and press again.
Then topstitch down each edge of the strip.

Cut four lengths of contrast fabric, each the length of the zip and 2" wide.  Put two strips right sides together with the zip in the middle of the sandwich and, using your zipper foot, stitch close to the teeth of the zip.  Open out and repeat with the other two pieces of contrast.  Then top stitch down the edge of the zip.
Sew the pocket pieces to each of the long sides.
Trim the zip pieces to the same size as the pocket pieces and open the zip.
Fold the wrist strap in half and pin to one long side of the pocket pieces.
Fold in half along the zip and stitch around the three open edges.

Turn through the zip opening, pushing out the corners.
