Phone case from pockets version 2

This is a variation on the phone case published last week, with a side opening.  Again, it has a useful pocket for cables and headphones.
You will need two pieces of denim, one with the pocket, cut to fit your phone; two pieces the same size of lining fabric and a piece of elastic about 2" long for the button closure to stop your phone from falling out!

First secure your elastic by stitching it to the top centre of your pocket piece:
Put the lining pieces, right sides together, on top of each of the outer pieces and stitch along the top edge.  Press open.
Sew a button on the dnim piece which will form the back f your phone case.
Put these pieces right sides together and stitch around three sides, leaving the bottom of the lining open for turning.
Turn right side out.
Stitch the open edge closed and push the lining inside the case.
Cut a short vertical slit in the elastic for the button.

  3. Just discovered your blog through Manic Monday, love all the recycled denim projects. I made a zigzag tote last week with old jeans and have just finished off a pair of treasure pants for my 2yr old using old jeans!

  4. I love this! And it comes in handy as I have a pair of jean that were about to be Goodwilled, and I need a case for my phone!
