I seem to be trying out a lot of new ideas recently. These are the latest - the first two of a set of bibs. I cut out another 20 in various sizes last night, so I really hope that these will sell!
Apologies for the photo quality - no time this morning to improve them!
This blog shows my recycled denim creations, along with tutorials for items I have designed myself. I collect old jeans (a strange collection, I know!) and cut them up to make bags, purses, animals and other items of varying sizes and shapes. I then sell these to raise money for weomen and children in the town of Utange, near Mombasa, in Kenya. I help women to set up their own businesses and am supporting the building of a new school for disabled children.

Pouch sets
I have been adding to the pouches I have made, and trying to build some of them into sets. The pattern here is from Amy Butler's book. It made up easily and I like the ability to create different sizes. It was also good to use up some of my stock of recycled zips.

Embroidered phone cases
Another variation on the phone case theme, these are easy to make and I hope to build up stocks. There may even be a market for personalised phone cases, though those would have to be made to order. These could certainly be used as part of a set, however - I am toying with the idea of making some to match bag designs.

More embroidered pouches
These are simple boxy style ones - again, with embroidery (you have seen some of these patterns before, I know!) Quick to make and all different; I like these.

Now that's what I call a restock!
I started making these little unlined coin purses for two main reasons - to use a part of the jeans which seemed too good to waste, and to provide a very cheap purchase, particularly aimed at children. They have proved very popular and are almost symbolic of my Sewing for Utange project - something unusual which everyone can afford. The purchase of one of these purses feeds a child for a week.
I sell a lot of them, so I seem to be constantly making them. I also use a lot of jeans, so always seem to have a stock of front pockets to use up! The combination of these factors has led to this:

As the title says, that's what I call a restock!
I like this little one in particular. The darts make it fun - it came from a little girl's denim skirt.

More stained glass style coasters
These look lovely, I think. I love the colours. They were made in the same colourway each time, but with the colours changed around. I think it worked well. I made two sets on different coloured denim.
