These have been selling very well.
I have a feeling it won't be long before I need to make more.
This blog shows my recycled denim creations, along with tutorials for items I have designed myself. I collect old jeans (a strange collection, I know!) and cut them up to make bags, purses, animals and other items of varying sizes and shapes. I then sell these to raise money for weomen and children in the town of Utange, near Mombasa, in Kenya. I help women to set up their own businesses and am supporting the building of a new school for disabled children.

Pucker up
I think I liked this applique more in theory than in practice. I've not, as yet, sold any of the bags made from it - I am reserving judgement.

Pink bunnies
This is another new pattern for these applique bags. I only managed to complete one version, but it looks cheerful and fun, I think.

Mark my place
These owl bookmarks are a firm favourite. A run on myh bookmarks left me needing to restock, and these were the first I completed. I have ten different patterns and made four of each design. That should keep me going for a while!

Excuses, excuses....
The third variation is, as you may have guessed, "You're not really drinking alone if your dogs are home".
The slogans cause plenty of amusement to those who read them.

Return of the owl bags
I had great success with these when I first made them. A return has been a long time coming - they are quite fiddly to make. However, if sales this weekend are any indication, these bags will remain on my list for some time to come. This little fellow has already sold, but I still have a few others left.

A sign of God's love....
I have been making these hearts for a while. After the first of session of a teaching series at our Church by Chris Duffett, I decided that I would give these away at future events. This basket is a reflection of that decision. I hope to have some as gifst at future events, as long as I can keep up with demand. So far at the two events at which I have offered them, they have been very positively received.

Dr Who?
Yes, Dr Who!
This bag was pleasing to make - I enjoyed raiding my fabrics for various shades of blue. I made two of this style - and both have now sold, so it is a design I need to remake and to try to keep in stock, clearly,. One of them was bought for a gift for a teacher - something of which I fully approve!

Stony Stratford Folk on the Green 2016
This is always one of my favourite events. It is a day full of music, laughter, good company and good sales.
We arrived in good time, but setting up in the rain is never fun. Nonetheless, we got it all done in good time - but I was already very wet after the initial set up.
Fortunately our stall neighbours commented how useful a tarpaulin was in these situations - and even more fortunately my husband managed to buy one from a local hardware shop. We blessed that tarp all day!
The rain was intersperesed with sunshine, and the temperature remained warm throughout. The people were their usual friendly selves.
The music was good, and the food delicious. I particularly enjoyed the strawberries and cream with the addition of meringue - strawberries and cream never tasted so good!
The rain did fall...
and fall...
and fall....
This last shot is of a neighbouring stall, its awning weighted down by rainfall. This after the rainwater had been twice cleared by a very lovely crew member.
Despite the rain, it was a good day with excellent sales. We felt so sorry for the bands and the organisers, dealing with the worst of British weather. We were not disappointed though, and fully intend to return next year.

Perfect poodles
This is a new applique for me, and one which was fun to sew - if a little time consuming with fiddly cutaways and two different fabrics. The finished effect is pleasing, and I am looking forward to remaking it in different colourways.

Ollie
I think this must be an Ollie rather than a Lollie owl.
Definitely male, and very sure of himself! Ollie does have a soft heart, despite appearances though - he is pure cuddle material!

A bundle of backpacks
Rather than spreading them out as separate posts, here is a "group shot" of my latest backpacks.
All have different trims, and I enjoyed placing jeans pockets as well.
