Loved this slogan when I saw it.  It is, however, a bit tricky and time consuming to embroider - on another version the fabric snagged somewhat.

Back to the elephant sanctuary

Here comes trouble bib

Many of us who are parents will empathise with  this slogan, I suspect.  I loved the embroidery design, and it just had to go on a bib.

Coffee bag

"Behind every successful person is a substantial amount of coffee."

Actually, isn't it strange how many coffee slogans there are and how few for tea?!

Elephant doorstops

Here is a selection of elephants for your pleasure!  I've decided that if I post them one by one, this elephant will become a wildlife sanctuary rather than a sewing blog.  Suffice to say these are proving extremely popular, and I am cutting them out and sewing them up almost permanently!

These four are designed as doorstops.  I filled plastic food bags with sand and put one in each leg before stuffing the rest of the elephant as normal.  They are just the right weight to hold your door open. 

Blue giraffe

I was dubious about using blue denim for the giraffes.  In fact, I intended to make them all from sand coloured fabric and paint true giraffe markings on them.  However, I tried one in denim and absolutely loved him.  I abandoned all ideas of sand colour and paint, and have gone over to making just denim giraffes.

Applique bib

The slogan on this is "Drool Monster".  I'm looking forward to making more of these, using up some of my fabric scraps.

Sweet little teddy

These little teddies are very sweet, but I don't feel I will be making many of them - they are very fiddly to sew up, due to their size and the number of pieces!

Spotty flower bag

A stark black and white flower for this bag.  The white denim sets the flower off effectively, and gave me the clue as to which flower to add.  In this batch of bags, I tried to place one "unusual" stripe in the centre of each bag.  I like the effect.

Blue elephants

Two with shades of blue in their ears.  Both have pockets.  I think they are both quite girly in style.

Love Bletchley Day

 Like last year, this was a really well organised, supportive day.  Bletchley High street was lined with stalls; there was lots of entertainment going on and strong support from local radio.

 Sadly, unlike last year, the weather was very mixed!  We had a couple of really heavy downpours, and my impression was that this had a negative effect on the number of people coming out to shop, or hanging around to look at stalls.

A good day's total for me, nonetheless, and lots of great conversations.
